About IEATA Middle East
It is time to expand the advocacy of expressive art therapy in the Middle East.
Considering the rich history of art and the challenging conditions in the region, promoting Expressive Arts therapy can contribute to improving mental health.
One of our programs in the region is to spread awareness of the healing power of expressive arts. Unfortunately, resources are limited in this region, but we strive to promote this approach by organizing webinars, workshops, and offering therapeutic services.
To stay informed about Expressive Arts therapy advocacy programs and for consultation in this field, feel free to contact us. We welcome ideas and collaborations in the region.
Regional coordinators
The co-coordinators of IEATA Middle East are Elahe Rahimian and Aisha Radwan.
Middle East Region Highlights

- IEATA International Regional Coordinators are gathering in Egypt for a hybrid in-person & online meeting this coming September to discuss the growth of the regions. The meeting takes place during part of the Bridging the Wisdom retreat with Middle East co-coordinator Aisha Radwan, founder of Expressive Arts Egypt, where Expressive Arts therapists and coaches are using the arts to connect beyond differences and borders.
- New IEATA members are from cohorts in Expressive Arts Egypt. They are starting to weave the Expressive Arts into their careers.
- One new member of IEATA from Expressive Arts Egypt directed a theater play that was about her personal journey in the training in relation to how the experience of Expressive Arts changed her life perspective. Another created a psychedelic art journey using the expressive arts to connect to the world of the subconscious.
The students/new members are from all over the world including, China, France, United Kingdom, Canada, and USA, as well as Egypt. - During the first Expressive Arts Therapy Festival in Egypt held October 3-5, we will promote IEATA, holding experiential and educational workshops.
