30 years ago the International Expressive Arts Therapy Association® (IEATA®) was set up to help advocate for the role of the expressive arts in all areas of society, but especially as an important element in helping to heal whatever ails us – as individuals and as a collective of humanity. We are all living through a time of great change, hardship, and possibility and invite you to open the many doors to what lies ahead as we bravely walk through them together. Our 16th International Conference, Passport to Transformation: The Expressive Arts as Doorways to Healing!, is an opportunity to journey together in transformative ways.

In June of 2025, we invite you, seasoned practitioners, new learners, and those who hold a place in their vision for the arts as a healing force, to come and stand at this complex point in time with those who are being called to travel this journey. How can we bring our past with us as we step into the future? We are crossing over into new territory, while standing on the ground of the story that has been written so far. We are thrilled to be able to gather together, in person, once again to share, explore, learn, create, and innovate! We hope you will be part of the transformative journey.

About the 16th International IEATA® Conference:
Passport to Transformation: The Expressive Arts as Doorways to Healing attendee’s passports will grant them access to a wide variety of workshops and presentations, with differently themed “tracks”. They get to decide where their journey takes them and which topics they would like to explore on a deeper level. Additionally, in joining others from around the world with different cultural backgrounds, experience, and approaches, attendees will have the opportunity to broaden their horizons and travel to landscapes previously unknown to them. Our conference will not only offer compelling keynote
speakers, roundtable discussions, workshops and presentations, but also events like committee meetings, live entertainment, award ceremonies, and pre and post conference activities.
